I have a hard time with how little attenton Noam gives popular conspiracies. He said a new 911 investigation is irrelevant. It took me a long as time to get to understanding that. Maybe because as time went on and more and more disasters occurred it got lost in the shuffle. And he often talks about world trade in simplistic terms (in lectures mind you. not in his literature). and lastly the thing that botthes me the most about Noam is how very little if Ever Noam speaks about the ghastly importance of
self governance / direct democracy... He often has perfect solutions to the crisis' we face but he has to know that none of his ideas will ever get through the congress. Why? Because America's congress is nothing but an impression of governance. Truth be told they're nothing but elected / appointed lobbyists in the highest position of lobbyists.
and the only industry America has had to go with since world war two is weapons manufacturing. We used up our oil. We tainted our food. We trapped ourselves in inefficient vehicles, and we stand divided on nearly any issue politicians can get their hands on. So While civil Libertarianism may be strong it remains powerless. And I wish Noam would point out that fact when he gives his lectures about what we as Americans Should do. Because we CAN'T DO ANYTHING!
