the reason why people are willing to sacrifice their lives in the middle east is because their lives are so harsh. It's not so much that they want to die or that they want to kill but that life is just so unbearable that giving their life to confront their oppressors and to force people to acknowledge their point of view seems like a more heroic way to die then just starving to death on the streets. It never really does change anything except that more people die violently.
most people don't understand how anyone would want to strap a bomb onto themselves. because the harshest situation most people face is what to make for dinner. as oppose to people who don't get any dinner unless they're willing to join a gang.
