Email reply from NBC: Reason why Mike Gravel got the boot off Oct 30 debate

"Mr. [surname redacted],

NBC News used objective criteria, endorsed by the Democratic National Committee, in determining which candidates would be permitted to participate in the October 30 presidential debate. Senator Gravel, along with more than 125 other candidates for the democratic nomination, did not meet these criteria.

‘Things to do for Upcoming debate’ Summary

Here’s a summary of what to do for the upcoming debate, combining the ideas of all of the different posts on this forum thread to come up with an attack plan of sorts.

1. Contact the people in charge of the debate every day

A. MSNBC and NBC

4. Tell Gov. Dean what you think: http://www.democrats.org/page/petition/chairman

2. Contact the other 7 Democratic Presidential candidates (via their websites) and ask them to speak out in support of allowing Gravel to debate. Hillary Clinton probably won’t do it, but Dennis Kucinich might.

3. Appeal to Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart and ask them to mention this on their shows: www.comedycentral.com/help/questionsCC.jhtml

4. Donate money ($100 has been suggested) on the day of the debate.

5. On Democrats.com: create a Party Builder account and post a blog on this subject. Post blogs on this subject in whatever other outlets that you have

More stuff I've stolen from the forums:)

Let's get other news networks into the mix, to get them to cover it (and also take a shot at their NBC counter parts).

Here's the contact info for CNN:

http://www.cnn.com/feedback/

More specifically, to contact "The Situation Room" with Wolf Blitzer, to get Sen. Gravel on his show:

http://www.cnn.com/feedback/forms/form5.html?65

And, lets also contact the Daily Show and the Colbert Report to get Sen. Gravel on their shows and talk about the injustice. (I'm sure Stephen Colbert is also being excluded from the debates).
